


A meeting convened at the Esplanade Hotel Paignton on Tuesday 25th April 1890, resolved to establish a rowing club.
The secretary pointed out that to start a club on a firm footing £100 would be required.
Mr T.B. Eastley reported that at the harbour they had been offered a boat house at a rent of £7, and it was estimated it would cost from £60 to £100 to build a slipway.
Mr W. Singer thought that the canvas for subscriptions had not been half completed, and that when done there would be no lack of funds –
Rules were adopted, and officers elected as follows:
